BIOC 445/545 and BIOMED SCI 511:

Intensive Biochemistry

This course is the first semester of a two semester intensive biochemistry course of study. The first semester provides an introduction into the physical and chemical properties of carbohydrate, lipid, proteins and nucleic acids. The course also addresses enzyme mechanisms; enzymic catalysis; the chemistry of information transfer and the structure, synthesis, and processing of nucleic acids and proteins.

The prerequisites for this course are: CHEM 302 or 308 and previous or concurrent registration in either CHEM 315 or 311.

Students should register for both BIOC 445 and any one of the BIOC 445L sections
